The USA Men's National team had barely pulled into Vetlanda Sweden on Sunday, when they pulled on their skates and played a warm up match against the Vetlanda (J20) team at Sapa Arena. Despite fighting some jet lag after their flight across the Atlantic, connecting flights, and a long bus ride, the American squad managed to put together a very respectable match, winning 14-2.

Jon Keseley started the scoring parade for the United States with a beautiful breakaway goal. Then it was Brent Palmer who added a couple of quick goals en route to a hat trick. Mike Hosfield also had a hat trick, and Peter Knutson, John Haertzen and Wyatt Wenzel each scored their first national team goals. Daren Richardson was dominant, rushing the ball at will and scoring two second half goals on long blasts.

Their next opponent, Jönköping BK, will be much tougher, but this game was a step in the right direction for Team USA.
