USA's Bandy League's Top Talent Brings It To Braemar...

The 2014 United States Indoor Bandy League (USIBL) All Star game on July 17 turned out as expected, quickly becoming an intense, competitive battle right from the get-go as the talent pool assembled for the match was at an all-time level. The high powered USA Bandy Team featured league scoring leader Jon Keseley and Team USA stars Mike Hosfield, John and Scott Arundel with the Young Guns squad countering this firepower with a mix of active professional hockey players, college hockey stars and veteran bandy stars currently playing in the bandy league. They also had the USA's top professional bandy player Daren Richardson as their anchor. In the end, the Young Guns squeaked out an 11-10 win over the USA Bandy stars. It was easily the fastest paced indoor bandy game ever witnessed in the US and a cliff hanger until the last second.

Game Most Valuble Player (MVP) was awarded to Mike Carman of the Young Guns with his four goal performance and several critical blocked shots. John Arundel was selected as the 'Best Team USA Player' and nailed the award by scoring a highlight film goal in the first half. Young Guns keeper Joe Howe made several huge saves at the end of the game to preserve the victory and was the 'Best Young Gun Player'. Mike Lickteig of team USA took home the Sportsman Award.

The league will resume play after the all-star break on Monday, July, 21 at Plymouth Ice Arena in Plymouth, MN.
