Bandy fans, players, and enthusiasts… The United States Rink Bandy League is proud to announce that the 31st season of summer Rink Bandy is finally upon us!

The USRBL has been hard at work, in conjunction with the ABA and USA Bandy, to bring you the 2015 summer season that will culminate with the awarding of the prestigious Cannon Cup.

Last season was quite possibly the highest level of Rink Bandy ever played in North America. NHL, AHL, numerous former Gopher Captains, Division 1 College hockey stars, and Elite USA Bandy players made up a majority of the rosters of ten excellent bandy clubs.

A final congratulations to Chris Halden, Steve Jecha, and the talent-loaded Minnehaha Maulers on their 2014 Cannon Cup Championship.

The USRBL has put a great deal of time and effort into the 2015 season, and we are thrilled with what we have come up with…

- Tuesday nights this summer have officially been dubbed Bandy Night in America. We have secured four hours of ice across two rinks at the Plymouth Ice Center every Tuesday throughout the summer (with the exception of 4th of July week at St. Louis Park). Games will start at 7PM, 7:15, 8:15, and 8:30. We are looking forward to growing our bandy community by having eight of the ten teams at the rink at the same times each week. This will also offer our loyal Rink Bandy fans a great opportunity to see many high level matches on one night.

- In addition to the four games on Tuesday's Bandy Night, each Wednesday night we will have our Game of the Week. These fixtures will be in prime time, located at the Olympic A Plymouth Rink, the St. Louis Park Rec. Center, or Braemar Ice Arena in Edina. We have hand picked some of the best match ups of the season to be featured as our Games of the Week.

- After last year's smashing successes, we have decided to officially include two All Star Games into the 2015 schedule. On Thursday, July 9th the USA U23 Team will take on the USA Legends. The following week, on Thursday, July 16th current members of the U.S. Men’s National Team will face off against the 2015 USRBL All Stars. Last season this match up featured a thrilling 10-9 victory by the 2014 USRBL All Stars, with Mike Carmen winning MVP. Both All Star Games will be in prime time at the showcase West Rink at the St. Louis Park Rec. Center. At least one player from all ten teams will be included in an All Star Game.

The 2015 USRBL schedule of play has been posted on the ABA’s website, www.usabandy.com, under the Rink Bandy tab. The season begins the first week of June, with each team playing ten total games, one per week, across ten consecutive weeks. The USRBL Playoffs will begin with the two play-in games on August 6th, with the Cannon Cup Final contested the week of August 17th.

We would like to close with a heart felt shout out to the great Tom 'Cannon' Howard; Founder of Rink Bandy in America, and Commissioner of the USRBL for 28 years. Tom now lives with his wife Annie in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he continues to be an active and positive figure in the Bandy community. Thank you so much for your decades of work to get the summer league where it is at today. We are all in your debt, and we just can't say strongly enough how awesome of a job you did.
