The United States Rink Bandy League is thrilled to bring you our 2015 regular season awards finalists. The 2015 season continued the upward trend for a thriving rink bandy league. Many in the bandy community consider the USRBL among the most competitive rink bandy being played in the world. This high quality on ice product is a testimonial to excellent athletes and dedicated team managers.
We are very excited to announce a new annual award for the USRBL regular season; The Tom Howard Leadership and Sportsmanship Award. This individual best exemplifies some of the qualities that league founder Tom ‘Cannon’ Howard brought to the rink every single game. Cannon often spoke of passion and intensity, and famously quipped our league’s slogan; ‘Remember, above all else, bandy is a gentleman’s sport’. The candidates for this award are all both a joy and terror to play against. The nominee’s respect the game, the officials, and their opponents, while being a leader on their own teams.
Every club gets a vote in each category, giving the winners the added satisfaction that their competitors and peers elected them. Thanks to everyone for a great summer of bandy, see you at the rinks!
