The USA Bandy League celebrates it's 36th season with the 2016-17 season just on the horizon. This is the only league in the USA and the source of our National Teams but it is often taken for granted. But just like anything in life, you never know what you have until it's gone. The only reason the league has kept going is the constant flow of new players and risk-taking individuals willing to split off and form new teams. We have been able to field three divisions for the last decade but it has taken a tremendous amount of work and therefore to maintain our league and continue to grow the sport, it is vital to our existence we keep the flow of players coming in so we do not lose any teams and numbers.
Everyone seems to know someone that "wants to try bandy" but never can get them out to the rink. To provide an easy opportunity for prospects to actually come out and get introduced to the sport, I am providing a hour of ice on Monday, October 17th at Braemar West at 9:15PM for "Bring A Friend To Bandy Night". So contact any prospects that you deem potential players in the league and get them out there! We need goalies so special prize bonus if you bring a keeper.
We will have veteran players/coaches there to provide basic instruction and then scrimmage. Balls and extra sticks will be provided. You are welcome to skate too so bring your stuff. This is open to adult men and women.
If you are coming with a prospect or have a prospect that you are sending, just let me know asap and provide contact information, hockey background, and most probable league they would fit into. There are teams in each of the three divisions for them to play in.
